Debt restructuring
The year 2023 was marked by the announcement of judicial, financial, and organizational recoveries of traditional companies in Brazil. Data from Serasa Experian shows that, only in November last year, the number of businesses in judicial recovery reached a record high and grew by 197% compared to November 2022.
But what signs indicate that the company needs help - and specialized help? The first factor to be observed is the decline for months or years of indicators such as the interest coverage ratio (ICR), current liquidity, and net debt/EBITDA.
In addition, indications of the need for restructuring are when the company needs support for negotiation processes with creditors and debtors, when it wants to establish a balance system in times of crisis and risk, when it needs support for legal processes, and when it needs to develop and implement a solvency strategy and cash committee.
Specifically for passive restructuring, Galeazzi & Associados advises companies on financial strategies and renegotiation of liabilities in commercial, extrajudicial, or judicial environments, in addition to evaluating capital structure and financial modeling.
